Title: Higher chordality
Speaker: Eran Nevo (Hebrew University)
Place:
Amado 619, Technion
Abstract:
We generalize the fundamental graph-theoretic notion of chordality into higher dimensional simplicial complexes by putting it into a proper context within homology theory. We generalize some of the classical results of graph chordality to this context. Time premitting, I will indicate its relation to the Hard Lefschetz theorem for toric varieties and applications to polytopes. Joint work in progress with Karim Adiprasito and Jose Samper.
